The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that more than 78% of adults, age 50 and older, are at risk for health problems related to lack of regular and sustained physical activity. Individuals can greatly reduce their risk of dying from heart disease and decrease the risk for colon cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure by engaging in regular physical activity.

Getting fit isn’t easy. Challenges range from making the time, to having the energy to finding the right place. That’s where the YMCA’s new Commit to be Fit program can help—and best of all, it’s FREE to all members! For a fitness program to meet your individual needs, you need individualized coaching. During the 12-week program, your Fit Coach will meet with you to determine your lifestyle, schedule and fitness goals. Getting started is easy. To sign up for the Commit to be Fit program, simply stop by the membership desk and schedule your first appointment with your Fit Coach. You’ll be on your way to a healthier you!
